It is an honor to serve as your state representative for the 43rd District.  I value the opportunity to work with the community to address the critical issues we face and to promote a positive agenda for our district and our state.

Throughout my tenure I have most valued your input.  Listening to what you have to say has enabled me to best represent your interests in Springfield.  Listening to you is of the highest priority and is the reason I strive to improve opportunities for outreach.  Those efforts include annual summer coffees, advisory councils, resource fairs and the new email newsletter.

In less than a year, Illinois will commemorate the 200th birthday of Abraham Lincoln, one of Illinois’ favorite sons. February 12, 2009 will mark the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth.

To honor America’s 16th president from Illinois, State Representative Ruth Munson along with representatives of the City of Elgin, School District U-46 and the Gail Borden Library are meeting to carry out a year long celebration of Lincoln that will culminate in a community birthday party in 2009.
